Automation Overview
DebtRecoup's automation system allows you to create triggers that automatically perform actions when specific events occur on accounts. This reduces manual work and ensures consistent handling of accounts based on your business rules.
What is Automation?
Automation in DebtRecoup is built around triggers - rules that define:
- When - The event that starts the trigger (e.g., account created, payment posted)
- For - Optional conditions to filter which accounts the trigger applies to
- Then - The actions to perform when the trigger fires

- Start with simple triggers and add complexity as needed
Best Practices
Start Simple
Begin with straightforward triggers (one event, one action) before creating complex multi-condition rules.
Test First
When creating triggers that modify accounts, test on a small set of accounts first to verify the behavior matches your expectations.
Edit Carefully
Editing an existing trigger can cause it to re-fire on accounts that were recently processed. Consider creating a new trigger instead of modifying existing ones.
